About Department:

        The Undergraduate Department of English was started with the establishment of the Institution in 1956. The Post Graduate Programme was started in 2004. The Ph. D. Research Centre recognized by Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati in 2018. Dr. Bharat S. Jadhao is Head of the Department and is recognized Ph. D. Supervisor with 4 research students doing Ph. D. under his supervision.
The Department has ICT facilities, Audio-Visuals like Cassettes and CDs to facilitate English Language Learning. The Departmental Library has around 800 reference books and textbooks.

Mission:

        The Mission of the Department of English is to impart skills of English language and to facilitate learning and research in areas of English Language and Literature. The Department strives to assist its students to develop literary sensibilities and language competence.

Objectives:

To impart skills of English language

To organize activities like lectures/workshops/seminars to develop and foster interest in English language and literature

To provide ICT enabled learning facilities to students

To enhance communication and employability skills of students

To ensure progression of students to higher education and better placements.
