It is my privilege, together with my staff and students, and with the benevolence of our Management, to state that we have already initiated the process of preparing and submitting the Self Study Report (SSR) of our much esteemed and widely known institution of higher learning, Jijamata Mahavidyalaya, Buldana to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore, for the third cycle of assessment.

Our College has to its credit many achievements not only in the field of academics but also in co-curricular, cultural and sports events, our students having topped in a number of events at the University, State and National levels. The college has kept up its pace of progress by adding new courses, upgrading teaching-learning methodologies, conducting extension activities and has shown a remarkable potential for growth in research through operating projects, publishing papers in reputed journals and presenting papers in state, national and international academic events. The college has expanded infrastructural facilities to keep pace with the ever growing number of students and programmes.

It is worth mentioning that this SSR is the fruit of a collaborative approach of all stakeholders, particularly, IQAC members who spared no efforts to give their best to compile and to scrutinize the relevant data to make this SSR as factual as possible that would convey to the evaluators a realistic picture of the college through the portals of which thousands of young men and women have passed out and today stand tall and high in public life.

I hope this systematic and meticulous exercise will provide for us an opportunity to look back into the past as well as to march forward in order to work for the promotion of scientific temper and excellence in education of the youngsters entrusted unto our care. While all the concerned will be happily awaiting a successful and an encouraging outcome, I would like to conclude my text with the words of the prophet of all times, the father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi: “A school or a college is a sanctuary where there should be nothing that is base or unholy. Schools and colleges are factories for the making of character.” The pages that follow will provide comprehensive information as well as throw more light on the various facets of our institution that submits itself to be assessed and accredited for the third cycle. Hope the outcome of this whole exercise will be fruitful and conducive in achieving greater heights of success.
